Traveling between Miami International Airport and the cruise ship terminal in Fort Lauderdale?
Later this year my wife and I will taking a cruise out of Ft Lauderdale. We will take a direct flight from SeaTac to Miami (there are none to Ft. Lauderdale) so we will need to find some mode of transportation to get from the airport to the cruise ship port (which appears to be roughly 25 miles distant). Short of taking a cab which would be quite costly, are there any modes of public transportation (train, bus, etc.) which could get us from the airport to the port in a convenient and efficient manner? Thanks for any information you might have.

take the "SUPER SHUTTLE" (blue van) in the first floor of the Miami Intl Airport (which the same to say the arrival level) to the Fort Lauderdale Intl Airport and from there.... take a taxi to the seaport(minute distance) in my opinion.... that will be the fastest ,cheapest ,and easy way. http://www.supershuttle.com/default.aspx?content=Miami

Depends on how much time you have. As John says, Supershuttle will take you to FLL for about $18.00 a person plus $1.00 a bag & from there you can take a cab a short distance to the port (about $6.00 per cab). Supershuttle may even have a flat rate to Port Everglades. Ask the dispatcher at the Supershuttle desk or go to Supershuttle.com. OR -- take the free tri-rail shuttle bus (ask at arrivals where it picks up) to the Tri-rail station. Buy a ticket to the Dania Beach/Ft. Laud airport ($4.00 each -- about 30 minutes travel time) station and from there take a cab to the port (just a little more than the airport fare). Tri-rail runs every half hour during peak commuter times from about 5:30 am to 9:30 pm & every two hours on weekends & holidays. Go to tri-rail.com.
