What shall I do with only 1 day in Miami

What shall I do with only 1 day in Miami?
I have a flight that stops in Miami from 3:30pm to 12 noon the next day. What should I see and where should I stay? Also where is good for cheap clothes shopping?

For only one day? You might want to find a hotel somewhere on Collins Ave. Its centrally located and has mass transit to get you anwhere else. For that first night, even if you don't party, you should visit South Beach. The art deco buildings, famous restaurants, Lincoln Rd. is great, too...lots of shops, pretty outdoor seating... Even just to people watch is colorful and pleases the senses. And in the morning you can watch the sun rise over the Atlantic if you get a hotel room on the beach. WOOOOW its amazing. Then have some breakfast and be on your way.
