I Live in Miami, Fl and from Ft. Lauderdale to Miami is about 30-40 minutes with no traffic and with traffic Good luck! But is not very far. Your best bet is to do google maps with but addresses. Also the cost of a taxi is super expensive is not like other cities were it might be like $ 50 you might spend, from ft. lauderdale to Miami in a taxi it will probrably be like $ 70 or more. Your best bet is only a taxi because if you take a bus you will have to take a couple buses. Good luck! Also if you are new to this city don't be surprise with the crazy drivers and rude people! is part of Miami unfortunately!

Ft Lauderdale Airport to Miami International Airport is under 30 miles. Traffic on I-95 & the Airport Expressway can make it a 2 hour trip in rush hour or bad weather. That road is always crowded. Unless your familiar with the area a taxi is best. They are safe & will know how to get around any traffic jams. Avoid the public bus, it would require several transfers to get there. Otherwise, consider a hotel with airport service.

I've made that flight and I don't understand why you didn't just book your flight to miami VIA Ft. Lauderdale... since the flights usually continue on this is not hard to do.

that depends on the time of the day, the I95 corridor is notorious for nasty traffic. Taxis are quite expensive at least 60 dollars. if you have time i would rent a car and drive around the beach. it is so easy you just take 95 and follow the signs.

First try the shared ride shuttle for $20-$25 or so: "Go-Express" formerly Tri-County Airport express has ride share vans outside arrivals and they do runs to MIA, but you have to wait until one going your way fills up. Look for the guy with the green letters on the white shirt outside arrivals. Their web site is: http://www.floridalimo.com/Pages/sharedr.html. If they don't have something heading down there then a cab should run some $60-70 or so per cab depending on traffic. The Tri-Rail option: The Tri Rail service may work for you if you're on a tight budget [About $4.00 a person]; have no more than 3 bags per person & have several hours and the right timing. You pick up the free Tri-rail shuttle bus at the city bus stop which is outside to the left of arrivals at each terminal. They take you to the Dania Beach Tri Rail station where you buy tickets & board for the Tri Rail. Take Tri-rail south to the Miami Airport station & there pick up another free bus to the terminal. Tri-rail is a commuter line that runs on the half hour morning & afternoon; hour during mid-day; every two hours on weekends & not at all from about 10PM to 5AM. It is also subject to occasional unanticipated delays that can be lengthy. Go to Tri-rail.com for schedules.
