No passport required between the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico falls under U.S. immigration and customs jurisdiction.

I even bring a passport if i go to a New York To San Fransisco. Its always good to have a passport near by just in case you need one. When I go to puerto rico I brought my passport.

You do not require a US Passport to travel in or out of Puerto Rico if you are a US Citizen. A simple US driving license or legal ID is all you need, if your an American. Traveling to Puerto Rico or from Puerto Rico to the US(Mainland) is like traveling to any other US state. Puerto Ricans are Americans and US Citizens. Puerto Rico has been a part of the US since 1898.
