Can you wait overnight in Miami Airport for a flight

Can you wait overnight in Miami Airport for a flight?
I'll be arriving late evening and my connecting flight is the following morning. I'm very tight fisted, and don't not want to shell out for a poncy, overpriced, souless hotel. Will the authorities throw a wobbler if I kip down on a bench for the night?

I haven't done a lot of traveling, but my guess would be... As long as you have a tickets to show your arrival and estimated departure time, you could just wait at the air port. My personal advice though, knowing ahead of time you should pack a travel pillow in your carry on bag. Maybe even a small travel blanket.

you can stay as long as You have the boarding pass or any proof of flying is "short period of time" ( one day and skiping the next) the are restaurants open 24 hours. so far I know ,I live in Miami.( been there often and less than 48 hours ago))

As long as you have a ticket they won't roust you -- but good luck on finding a "bench." You'll have to get comfortable in a chair.

I am a Miami native... and I am in the airport quite frequently. Unfortunately, they do not like people to stay overnight in the airport... except in Concourse A. Concourse A is the main international concourse, and usually the only concourse with red-eye and late-night and early-morning flights to/from Europe, Africa, and Asia. So it's the one most used by overnight passengers. So I would head that way if you plan on sleeping in the airport. Chances are you will be asked to move a couple times during the night, though... so don't count on getting very good sleep. The reason they do this is because MIA has it's own in-airport hotel (in concourse E) and of course, they want the passengers who have no where else to go to pay the $200 to spend the night at the MIA Hotel. If all else fails, take a cab to South Beach and walk around... the bars there stay open until 5 am, so you can go back to the airport nice and sloshed! Ha ha ha. GOOD LUCK!
