Any tips on cheapest deals on flights to Miami/ft. lauderdale? we are gonna be staying in key west.?
We are staying in Key west, and obviously its expensive to fly directly in. We want to fly, and then rent car and drive. Any ideas on best travel sites for flight prices? Oh, P.S., I didnt mean ft. lauderdale. We'd fly into miami i guess, and then drive. Its the just the fact that we really wont need a car though, once we are in key west. I dont know.

You should set your dates to leave either on a Tuesday or Thursday and come back on a Tuesday or Thursday. Tickets are cheaper that way because most people want to travel on weekends.

Keep in mind that it's the better part of 200 miles from Ft Lauderdale to Key West, so with gas prices averaging 3.12-gallon, that will add to you costs considerably.

Just get on Yahoo Travel and search for flights - they usually come up with decent pricing. It isn't really THAT expensive to fly directly into Key West vs renting a car and spending 4 hours on US 1 (on a good day) - if there is an accident of any sort, there is NO other way out - you are stuck until it is cleared. Then when you get to Key West, you'll have a car you don't really need. Check out flights before you commit to driving.

Where are you flying from? If you want to combine air, car, and hotel you can get a package deal. You can also package car and air, if you say dates and cities will find you a price

spirit air has really good deal on tickets. If you can save money flying to FLL, you should. It's only 30 minutes away from Miami.

I've been researching for months for our (me & hubby) trip to Key West. We are going in end of March, leaving from Pittsburgh. For round-trip it is costing us $1,100. That's with AAA membership! We stop @ Ft. Lauderdale, then fly into key west. Expensive!
