Advanced passenger information for stop in jfk on way to ecuador via miami?
Advanced passenger information for long transit stop in jfk on way to ecuador via miami? hi there, We are flying with american airlines from london heathrow to ecuador via jfk and miami - we have a 9 hour overnight wait in jfk and then a 8 hour wait in miami by day. So we are not actually staying in america, but obviously we have to go thru immigration to get onto the miami flight. But what should we put on the visa waiver form and what should we give as advanced passenger information re: addres in usa? when checking in and /or filling in immigration forms? ie. airline need us to supply an address in usa. do we put waiting in airport? or in transit? or should we just find a hotel and put that? apparently if you transfer to intnational flight within 8 hours, you can just put in transit on form. but we are waiting more than 8 hours, plus its a domestic flight. so really - we are deemed as in the usa. thanks thanks very much for the reply is that even the case if we are transiting via domestic USA flights too on the way to a final international destination and spending a whole 8 hours overnight waiting in jfk for the miami flight? we don't want to have put the address of a hotel or pay to stay in a hotel near jfk.!!

If you are in transit you can put your general itinerary information. This page lists the information in detail: http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/travel/inspections_carriers_facilities/apis/apis_final_rule_reqs.xml Safe travels and enjoy your trip to Ecuador! Edited to include: It appears from looking at the website that you can still put in transit along with your itinerary even if you will have a layover greater than 8 hours. That being said, I'm not an attorney so my answer isn't definitive. Good luck and enjoy your short stay in the US!
